FBI agents arrested a 63-year-old man Wednesday at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on charges he sexually assaulted a female passenger next to him on a flight to Atlanta.
The man, V***** R*****, is a Russian national who was in the country on a Visa and was scheduled to return to Moscow on Wednesday, according to FBI spokesman Stephen Emmett.
During a Delta flight from San Francisco, R******* touched the victim's groin twice, Emmett said.
The victim, whose age was not made public, approached a flight attendant and said she had been touched inappropriately, Delta spokeswoman Susan Elliott said.
The flight attendant moved her to another seat and told the flight crew's captain, who came out and talked to the victim, Elliott said. The captain also contacted the control center, which informed the local authorities in Atlanta.
R****** was arrested after the plane touched down at Hartsfield-Jackson at 1:20 p.m. He will be charged with sexual assault.
