    consulting opportunity - Russia/Ukraine

I met with a Russian/Ukranian 'boutique' consultant firm that specializes in helping American companies execute new start-up operations in Russia/Ukraine.  They offer much the same services as a Bain or McKinsey and have strong business connections all over Eastern Europe, but principally in Russia and Ukraine.

They pay commissions for bringing new leads to the table.  So, this is an opportunity for anybody interested.  Do you know of any companies here in the Southeast that already have international operations, and are a good prospect to now go into Eastern Europe?  Even more importantly, do you have any contacts at any of these companies who you could help introduce this consulting firm to?  I can't promise you'll make any money soon, but the idea is to do just that - make a commission by connecting these consultants with new American business companies.

Apparently, EVERYTHING is hot in Russia right now, so you can pretty much throw a dart at the Industry dart board and that's hot right now.  Companies who's competitors have already moved into Russia would seem good prospects if you know any.....

PM me if you are interested in helping with this, and I can discuss how you can make some money off this too.

OK, I can throw a few darts, when can I collect the checks? Wink

IMHO, naive to assume you'll get key stakeholder's contacts for large companies through this forum. Btw, suspect that Bain and McKinsey would never ask (at least on a public forum) for this kind of service - this would not help maintain their reputation...

This is grass roots networking.  Yeah, Bain and McKinsey make so much money off 'key stakeholders' that they don't have to do grass roots networking.  They can charge a fortune for pie-in-the-sky projects that they don't necessarily help execute.  I'm trying to support a very small group of Russians/Ukranians that ARE successfully helping American companies launch into Eastern Europe.

But to your piont, I received no good responses to this post.  No big deal.

Doesn't matter how you call it - grass root networking or whatever else. The point is that this kind of strategic decisions (i.e. expansion into a new geo) is made by C-level execs or exec VPs. So, to get the consulting contract, you need to get to those folks, which I don't think possible through this forum.

On a side note, Bain, McKinsey and other top strategy consultancies do deliver impact otherwise they would not have had the sustainable business model for 50+ years. They are paid big money to develop a strategy and that's their value. You can hire much cheaper consultancies to execute - don't have to be super-smart for that.
