If I had a snake 10 cm from my nose, she (how did you know the snake was a she?) wouldn't have to be poisonous. I'd just drop dead from the fright. In my head, I know that non-poisonous snakes aren't dangerous, but I'd still probably hire someone to catch her and release her in a park. I'd definitely rather have a bunch of fluffy little bunnies hopping around than a bunch of snakes.
Spiders don't bother me (though I take them outside if I find them in the apartment) and I like lizards and frogs, but snakes just terrify me. I love bats though. As soon as I give up apartment living for a house with a yard, I want to get a bat house and grow the appropriate vegetation for them. I'd just love to have a yard with bats hanging upside down in the trees.
